Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia)













     Harebell is a native, perennial wild flower in Wisconsin. It grows up to 20 inches tall. It bears pale bell-shaped flowers that are less than an inch long. Each flower is formed from five fused petals and found nodding from a thin stem. It has round basal leaves that are 1/2 to one inch wide. The other leaves are three inches long, grass-like, and 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide. The leaves alternate along the stem. It grow in most areas with sun, rocky outcroppings along rivers, meadows, and prairies. (LS)
