Yellow Jewelweed (Impatiens pallida)


     



     Yellow Jewelweed is a native, annual wildflower in Wisconsin. It grows three to six feet tall. The pendent, inch long yellow flowers have five petals. Stems are succulent, somewhat translucent, and branching occasionally. Leaves are thin, egg shaped with coarse broad teeth and slender long stalks. It is a plant of moist deciduous woodlands and woodland edges with full to partial sun. (July)
